Key West Sailing Adventure

Albert,
We stayed aboard the Moondance and the Wildthing with the Hauck family on Easter weekend. I just wanted to let you know that we had a great time. The staff was great. We had Nancy and Capt. Alan on our boat, and they’re some of the most interesting people I’ve ever met. They had so many great stories! Nancy brought Tiny Beauty, too, who was the cutest thing in her homemade clothes!! Susan showed us around the boat and helped us settle in and made us feel welcome.

Unfortunately it was too windy to snorkel, but we were lucky enough to have 3 pods of dolphins swim around and under the boat at three different times, and there was also a turtle that swam by, too. They probably didn’t see that many dolphins on the dolphin watching boats.

We just wanted to thank you and your awesome staff for your hospitality, and let you know that we’re sure we will see you again soon.

Renee & I had a wonderful time last week sailing the Keys with Capt Chris and 1st Mate Sandy. They were a very personable and knowledgeable crew…..not only about sailing but everything about the Keys and surrounding area. Since you’ve worked with Chris for quite a while, you no doubt know him. Sandy, however, we understood was a “late-inning” replacement but really did a great job. She prepared for us delicious meals and was very attentive to our comfort and enjoyment of the trip.

Hi Captain Albert!
We sailed with you in 2008 when we were married on your sailboat. What a beautiful sail and memory we will always have. We can’t wait to get back to Key West, but until we do, we are planning on having the wedding party over to our home in Washington for a “key west party”. My daughter’s first words were, “we have to have Capt. Albert’s Shrimp”.

At the end of our sailing and after the ceremony at sunset, you treated us to shrimp that you had prepared for the trip. I believe that you said the secret was adding lime juice to the water when cooking. Can you please give me your recipe? I wanted to also have the wonderful wedding cake that you provided and called the bakery, but they are not able to send it to me, so I am going to go with Key Lime Pie instead.

Before closing, just want to say that you and Nika made our wedding very special!

We just got home from our vacation and wanted to email you for two reasons:
1. I seem to have lost 2 bathing suits and was wondering whether you found anything on the Moon Dance after our departure on February 4th.
2. We also wanted to thank you very much for a wonderful vacation. Please pass on our thanks to Captain Brad and Susan. They both made us feel very comfortable. Danne loved sailing and we both loved Susan's fabulous meals. If you could ask her for the Ginger Mahi Mahi recipe for me I would appreciate it.

Hi Ronda and Albert!
It's Jerilyn from Minnesota, Rick and I had the most fabulous time on the Wildthing which is a beautiful boat!! It's an adventure we will never forget and we were thoroughly blessed having met Captain Chris and First mate Nancy!! The two of them worked so well together. Chris had our full attention with his knowledge, stories and sailing expertise while Nancy equally impressed us with her ability to run the sails and everything else that a first mate does. We were pleasantly full from all the good food on board, Nancy is a wonderful cook!! We were spoiled from the fresh fish that Rick spent hours catching and the lobster that Chris worked hard to get!! Ricky is peeling like crazy, he definitely will be wearing sunscreen next time!! The Keys are beautiful not to mention the most breathtaking sunsets we have ever seen!! It truly was a pleasure meeting all of you and we hope to sail with you again.

You were so right about our upgrading our sunset to a half day sail! we had a blast, and enjoyed the afternoon with your awesome crew. Even though Kelly was concerned about her vertigo, she had a wonderful time in your gentle seas and we had a great time swimming and snorkeling at the reefs. We sure wish we could come back this winter as Minnesota is already getting cold! thank you so much for your patience and guidance and in particular to our special needs!

We enjoyed our two night stay with you on Obsession and so did our friend who joined us, Margaret! Being a small owner/operator of a pest control business, I rarely get time to get away and this was such a treat, especially with the flexible scheduling on our sunset sail. Being from Milwaukee I enjoy living in Tampa and never got the chance all these years to come to Key West and now I can say that's one for the bucket list! Great time with your staff who are very accommodating! We hope to make this an annual event if work allows again!

We had such a great time on the Obsession with our "Key West Sampler" package! Thank you for taking the time to ask us in detail what we wanted on our second night at anchor! The meal your crew prepared for us under the stars was first class and was without a doubt, the best restaurant we could have gone to in Key West! We came in the first night and relaxed as you suggested, went to Schooner Wharf Bart then enjoyed sleeping the first night at the docks. Your crew came on time and whisked us off on our 24 hour adventure at sea! We saw dolphins, birds, eagles, turtles at the uninhabited island you told us about! The captain and first mate took us to different reefs and were first class in their local knowledge. Definitely gave us an appreciation of the real Florida Keys! Give our best to your awesome crew and hi to your wife!

Could we say that we had the dream wedding honeymoon and experience of a lifetime on Wild Thing? Our June 4, 5, 6th wedding at sea then honeymoon could not have been better. We loved catching our own fish for one of the dinners too at sea! Sheena and I loved the pictures that you and your first mate took and thank you for making the CD for us. Our Face Book friends could not have been happier. Our family that looked at the pictures were certainly envious of our adventures. I enjoyed staying on the Obsession so much and was grateful that you allowed first mate Frenchie and Captain Chris to stay a third night at sea! Just a quick note to say how much we enjoyed our time with you in Key West on Wild Thing! Our friends that joined us said we should find another excuse to get together in the near future! What a great alternative to staying in a hotel. We enjoyed being able to walk about the historic seaport then did the Duval Crawl with minimal damage. Thanks for being flexible and allowing us to convert our 2 hour sailing to four hours with our two-day package and thanks for allowing our friends that stayed elsewhere to hop on board. The sailing was breath taking, we enjoyed the quiet calm of the day, and the islands were wonderful. Being a pilot, Dave doesn't always get that much time to get away so this just fit in our schedule! Driving down from West Florida through the Keys made our adventure special. He had wanted me to see real Key West and this was it. thanks again, say hi to your wife Ronda and your crew!

We wanted to make sure to thank you and Captain Chris for taking us last minute for a wonderful four hour sail June 5th aboard Obsession! It was great to have the sodas and sandwiches included in our package we had less to worry about and appreciated the fact that it was just us and our friends on board. Chris was a great local guide and told us many things about the wild life. We saw dolphins, turtles and beautiful colors of water on the way to our reef stop and were amazed at the wonderful ocean life! Our friends could not be happier with the best service and personal attention we got.

Dear Captain Albert,
I am sending you a CD of our wonderful three nights at anchor experience! My husband and I enjoyed the stay immensely! You may have noticed that "Doc" was his most entertaining self by being his own version of Captain Jack from the Pirates of the Caribbean. My husband and I enjoy working hard on our weekly T.V. show, and this experience was everything and more that your wife Ronda promised us! We were able to defrag from our lives and enjoy the wonderful sunsets, super service of your crew, meals outside in the open at sea, and amazingly to us, the friendly dolphins that swam around us while we were actually in the water! You can be sure that we will be back when our schedule allows. Tell your crew we still are talking about what we enjoyed was so unique.

Good morning!
We just had to tell you that the Key West Sampler on Wild Thing was such a great experience! Since we had a sailboat before, we were so excited to be able to have sailing time at the helm when we were at sea. It was a break from our Texas hot June summer and we thoroughly enjoyed the swimming at the reefs. The chance to enjoy local seafood and fresh tropical local food while at sea made us feel like we were really a part of the real Key West experience! We had fun the first night just walking around getting used to be sailors again, then when the provisioned boat took off the next day, we were so excited about seeing so many wonderful parts of the natural islands. Our last night was very relaxing at the docks, and we felt whole when we headed back home. Hope to see you again in the future!
